This image sums up one of the most rock and roll, festival weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure to shoot at. With a big top tent, about 5 or so bands, a drum-playing groom, and a super stylish arrival in an old Jag with a bottle of bubbly in hand, it just couldn’t be better! You can check out a load more images from this festival wedding at this blog post.
Why do I love this particular image so much. I love the vibrant primary colours in the grass, the big top tent and the bold sky. I love the marshmallow clouds. I love scanning the faces of the different guests and seeing all their reactions to the couple’s arrival as they grab their cameras/phones for a quick shot. The groom looks stylish and in-the-moment, clutching the bubbly as he steps out of the mint Jag that he just skidded across the grass! I love the action in the shot, there is loads of movement and life going on that holds the eye.
Technically, this wasn’t a particularly difficult image to take, but it did require the forethought to position myself to capture the whole scene with my composition, which allowed the atmosphere of the moment to come across.
Above all I love this image because it feels fun and alive!
