Kingston Estate wedding venue is a stunning Georgian mansion near Totnes in Devon
Fancy having the run of your own country house estate for the day? Yes? Then book your wedding at Kingston Estate, it’s mega!
Built in 1735, it has a ton of history and is the quintessential British countryside estate. With a total of 15 acres of space to play with, accomodation for roughly 50, and 9 licensed ceremony spaces; the sky’s the limit for your wedding day plans.
As you stroll around the grounds you’ll notice there’s a huge amount of variety, with different garden spaces, marble halls, grand staircases, barns, courtyards, walled gardens and so much more. It’s unique and truly stunning.
The Kingston team are amazing as well, friendly and relaxed, they just seem to melt into the background and make everything run smoothly without any fuss. Oh, and the food… delicious!
Jade & Henley’s Kingston Estate Wedding
Jade & Henley are absolute diamonds, so warm and welcoming and with an absolutely lovely group of family and friends. They are both extremely talented photographers and artists in their own right and very well known and respected underwater photographers; you can check out Henley’s site here and Jade’s here. It is always a huge privilege to be asked by other creatives to document their day and they basically gave me free reign and trust to work in my relaxed documentary style, with a few portraits thrown in, and were a pleasure to spend a day with.
My day started in one of the gorgeous rooms in the main house with Jade and the fabulous @makeupbyione; always a pleasure to work with and creates the most beautiful, subtle & natural makeup looks I’ve seen. Right from the start of the day I could tell that a HUGE part of the wedding was going to be a joyous soul called Apolline. Jade & Henley’s daughter was really the focus of the day throughout, and the love that I witnessed for her was beautiful, she really is the centre of their world, as you’ll notice by how many images she features in with her cheeky little smile! While Jade was getting ready, Henley and a few friends were enjoying some football out on the lawn, before heading in to get suited up.
Jade & Henley chose the iconic 18th century walled garden for their ceremony, and all I can say is it is a perfect ceremony spot. After an emotional ceremony, we all moved through to the gardens by the mansion house for a champagne drinks reception and confetti. Some time later, we headed in for dinner with beautiful views over the grounds. A few incredible speeches followed, with emotional and touching moments, and some funny moments and of course, plenty of hugs and cheers.
The later evening party was hosted in the Undercroft, Kingston’s secret underground club! I wasn’t expecting that! Tucked away underneath one of the main building is a brick walled, cave-like club and bar, where you can all go nuts! The night finished off for me at about midnight with a sparkler run out in the courtyard. What a day!
