A fun filled DIY farm wedding in Devon…
Colin & Katie held their laid back, fun wedding day at Colin’s parents farm, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. A huge amount of effort went into the decorations and setup, which was largely DIY, even the flower circle for the humanist wedding ceremony was based around the frame of a trampoline! It looked amazing!
After joining Colin and his pals for a quick surf at Widemouth Bay in the morning, I then headed over to Katie to catch some of the morning preparations. It was raining on and off, and they almost held the ceremony inside the marquee, but a last minute change in weather meant a quick scramble to get everyone back outside for the ceremony. The sun came out and shone for a while, which really made it special.
Confetti, drinks, scones, groups and portraits all flowed effortlessly after the ceremony and then Colin & Katie made a massive entrance into the marquee on a quad bike! Nicely done! Some brilliant speeches followed and then plenty of food and drinks.
The weather seriously turned on us in the evening, with a huge thunder and lightening storm wiping out the power and creating a crackling atmosphere!
I love DIY farm style weddings and would love to shoot more of them, so contact me if you are planning one! Here’s another farm wedding in Devon with a festival vibe, if you want to see more!
