Eden Project Wedding Photography

My experience as an Eden Project Wedding Photographer

Finally! I’ve been wanting to photograph a wedding at the Eden Project for several years now, and so many times I’ve had enquiries for it, but always been unavailable, so when Matt & Evelyn booked me for their Eden Project wedding, I was buzzing!

The Unique Eden Project

As wedding venues go, the Eden Project is to the best of my knowledge, totally unique! Nestled in a huge crater in the Cornish countryside near St Austell, the Eden Project houses two massive biomes; the Rainforest biome (largest indoor jungle in the world!) and the Mediterranean biome.

For weddings the Mediterranean biome is where it’s at! It literally is like walking into an island in the med! You can have your wedding ceremony safe in the knowledge that your guests will feel like they are sat outside in warm mediterranean weather. You can dine ‘al fresco’ without any worries about the changeable Cornish weather. It’s the perfect outside-inside wedding venue.

Matt & Evelyn’s Eden Wedding Day

Based in Oxford, Matt & Evelyn were an absolute pair of legends to photograph. Both very chilled out, but also tons of fun to be around and with an amazing group of friends and family to celebrate with. Most had travelled a long way to be at the wedding, and they absolutely made the most of it. Anyone who follows my work will know that I love to photograph hugs, and this was certainly an incredibly huggy bunch! The ceremony was emotional and personal, the speeches were really funny, the dancing was on fire! There were some great touches like a lads trip to the beach in the morning, a knot-tying ceremony, a toy ‘wedding car’, beer pong and table tennis and some very well improvised limbo late into the party. So all in all it was an amazing day!

Award Winning Wedding Photography at Eden Project

The following images from this wedding have picked up photography awards!

A wedding image at the Eden Project of a bride and two guests embracing infront of some huge trees.

This first one above with a triple hug (nicely mirrored by the three trees) was awarded a badge in the September round of NineDots awards, and was one of four winning images that helped me win Photographer of the Month in that round.

The second image above is a ‘Story Award’ from This Is Reportage for this wedding. Story awards are a set of 15-20 images from one wedding, all unposed & unstaged, and they are very difficult to win, so I’m very proud to have achieved that.

Head on down to see a small selection of my favourite images from Matt & Evelyn’s wedding day at the Eden Project. Enjoy!

ps. I had the fab Amy Sampson helping me out as a second shooter for a bit at this wedding, thanks Amy!
