A beautiful outdoor wedding at Chycara house

Helen & Martin chose to have their wedding day at Chycara House, near Truro, and it was a day filled with fun, music, a fair few drinks, and a ton of laughter.

Chycara is a little known venue a short trip from Truro, and really is a hidden gem. Chycara has a ton of accomodation, a beautiful purpose built wedding venue with the right mix of modern and rustic, absolutely gorgeous grounds with a lake, and, if you go for a bit of a stroll you’ll find a lovely, un-spoilt bit of woodland to explore. And that’s exactly what we decided to do, stroll around the woodland in the late afternoon light, as you’ll see below.

The first image up top is an image from this wedding that went on to win an award from This Is Reportage (a documentary wedding directory) and was one of the awards that led to me ranking in the ‘Top 30 worldwide in 2018’. So happy and proud to win an award for this image, and just goes to show that even simple, fun moments, like a couple of guests enjoying some hula hoops, can be captured artistically and creatively.

Helen & Martin chose to hold their wedding ceremony in a small private garden at Chycara, and actually had one of their close friends as the officiant! They did the ‘legal bit’ separately on another day so that they could have the ceremony that they wanted, without Britain’s outdated legal requirements holding them back! I highly recommend this approach, it totally frees you up to have the ceremony you’ve dreamt of, instead of being forced to be in a licenced location.
