Rebecca & Jack invited me out to Belfast to photograph their amazing wedding day at Larchfield Estate and it was mega!
It’s always an honour to photograph weddings, but it totally blows me away when couples ask me to travel further afield to be their wedding photographer! And with that happy feeling in mind I hopped on the plane over to Belfast for a few days to cover Rebecca & Jack’s Larchfield Estate wedding.
Larchfield Estate is a stunning venue of over 600 acres set in the rolling countryside of Lisburn, about 25 minutes from Belfast city. A rural escape with cobbled courtyards, rustic barns, walled gardens and delicate flowers blooming. There’s some beautiful grounds to wander through on your way down to the lake, and a charming atmosphere throughout.
Sadly Rebecca & Jack weren’t able to hold the ceremony outside in the gardens due to the Northern Irish weather not playing ball, but it didn’t matter one iota, we just headed inside and carried on the good times. Rebecca & Jack really did take the intermittent rain in their stride, and we had some dashing in and out to get through a handful of group photos at the reception.
We did manage to squeeze in a walk down to the lake for a few portraits, and thankfully the weather cleared up later on in the day, allowing the guests to enjoy the outdoor space!
After the food and speeches were finished and the dancefloor was underway, things really kicked off! It got pretty lively and the night was rounded off nicely with a sparkler tunnel and a late trip to the greenhouse, which looks amazing lit up at night.
It was fab to work alongside the talented Ashley from Carcosa Films for the day, and I’m looking forward to seeing the film!
