Jon & Niamh’s wedding day at the newest addition to the Carbis Bay Estate, the Ocean Venue, was equal parts relaxed and luxurious, an effortlessly stylish day celebrating their wedding and taking in the coastal vibes.

The Ocean Venue is very new to Carbis Bay, and is modern, sleek and stylish. Floor to ceiling windows and stunning panoramic views of the bay are it’s immediate standout features, but then you will taste the food and have another reason to love it! As a wedding venue it has loads to offer, and is quite unique in Cornwall, with it’s proximity to the sand only really rivalled by Lusty Glaze I think. There is a champagne bar, a lounge bar and the large open plan space used for the ceremony, dining & dancefloor.

In terms of accomodation, there is a huge amount on offer. There’s various suites along the beachfront, including a luxurious wedding suite, as well as the myriad of options within the Carbis Bay Estate; the hotel, cottages and lodges.

I loved working at the Ocean Venue, it’s a dream spot for a wedding photographer, and Jon & Niamh are absolutely lovely, warm genuine people with an amzing set of guests, so it really was a pleasure. Here’s some feedback from Jon & Niamh:

I’ve worked at Carbis Bay Hotel a few times before, and you can check out Rich & Nicky’s Carbis Bay wedding here, from a few years back. But the new Ocean Venue defintely has a totally different feel to the rest of the hotel, much more modern and high end luxury vibe.

Jon & Niamh’s wedding was not very traditional at all; they got ready together in the morning, Niamh did not wear a white dress, and they gave me a brief of being completely hands off and documentary with the photography, which suits my style really well!
