St Mewan Church Wedding

Rustic, festival style farm wedding in Cornwall

Nicola & Sam’s wedding day was simultaneously stylish and elegant, but also relaxed and rustic. A hard trick to pull off, but I suppose with the bride’s background in graphic design, and the groom’s involvement in the wedding and events team at the Eden project, it shouldn’t be surprising that they were a dab hand at throwing a wedding party!

Their ceremony was held at St Mewan Church in St Austell, followed by a reception at Nicola’s Grandad’s farm; St Medros. Their was a relaxed, rustic, family festival vibe at the reception with amazing slow cooked meats and craft beers on hand. Loads of fun and games including croquet, tug-of-war and kids building hay-bale castles! The whole day flowed so smoothly with effortless group shots and portraits, brilliant speeches and little highlights like Nicola’s Dad and his barbershop-style singing group blasting out some amazing songs for everyone!

I absolutely adore shooting festival style, outdoors farm weddings and seem to photograph several a year. So if you are planning one and want some more ideas and inspiration then check out Merryn & Matt’s Nancarrow Farm wedding, Sophie & Nick’s Porthilly Farm wedding, Cat & Tom’s family farm wedding or Will & Emma’s festival wedding in Devon.
