Trefusis Estate is a stunning wedding venue
Matthew & Richard chose to hold their festival style wedding reception at Trefusis Estate and it was a crazy, colourful and absolutely brilliant day!
The Venue: Trefusis Estate
A stunning estate with over 700 years of history with the Trefusis family, it has relatively recently opened its gates to weddings and it’s stunning! With wedding days expertly coordinated by the fab Hailey at The Little Cornish Wedding Company, Trefusis offers a historic manor house, beautiful woodlands and meadows and gorgeous views over the Fal Estuary. The perfect location for a festival tipi wedding day with a ton of wow factor!
Matthew & Richard’s Wedding Day
After a quiet morning getting ready together in one of the cottages at Trefusis, Matthew & Richard jumped in a Bentley for a ride over to St Mawes to their intimate wedding ceremony at Tresanton Hotel. With just their closest family and friends, cream teas and great views over the water, it was a relaxed and classy occasion. We then jumped on the ferry back over to Flushing and Trefusis Estate where the party was waiting!
About one hundred more guests were waiting for us, enjoying the grounds of Trefusis Estate! It was such a fun vibe; think music festival with street food, self-serve alcohol and informal seating. We had a couple of Chinese traditions thrown into the mix, including a wishing tree and a tea ceremony. After greeting everyone by the Trefusis House, the couple led their guests on a lovely walk over to the wishing tree, where everyone threw their wishes up into the old oak (tied to clementines as per tradition), and then onward through the woodland to a beautiful meadow where the tipi was all setup for the party! Speeches, dancing, a tea ceremony, amazing food courtesy of Shellfish Pig (highly recommended, Lobster Mac’n’Cheese anyone?!), a stunning fireworks display and, of course, more dancing! It was awesome! The videography team for the day were in fact Matthew’s siblings Michael & Sindy of ManMade Films, so if you see the video team more than you usually would then it’s because I was purposely including them as they were an important part of the day.
Matthew and Richard, and all their friends and family really made the most of it and I want to say thanks for making me feel so welcome and for absolutely smashing it! Here’s what Matthew & Richard had to say about their wedding photography (thanks guys!):
There are not enough words to describe the brilliance of Paul at Albion Row Photography. He is not only incredibly professional throughout the process, but also genuinely one of the friendliest guys we had the pleasure to work with for our wedding in Cornwall. And then there are the photos. Paul has an uncanny ability to capture all the feeling and atmosphere of a moment in one shot. We were able to relive every part of our special day through his photos – all the laughs; all the tears; and all the shapes on the dancefloor. We would recommend Paul in a heartbeat. If you want someone who is as capable as he is approachable then Paul is your man.
