The Green is a lovely spot for a wedding, and Simon & Kelly’s relaxed and fun wedding day did not disappoint, despite some challenging weather thanks to Storm Brian!!
Simon & Kelly held their wedding day at The Green, near Liskeard. The Green Cornwall is a stunning wedding venue nestled in an area of secluded woodland near the rolling hills of the moors. It’s an exclusive hire venue, with a wonderful range of different spaces, including barns, courtyards, cottages and a manor house as well as the lovely woodland paths. The outdoor space is beautiful, but this wedding was in October, so we weren’t expecting great weather! But we weren’t expecting Storm Brian to come in with gale force wind and heavy rain! Luckily for us the indoor spaces at The Green are delightful too, and Simon & Kelly’s excitement wasn’t dimmed in the slightest and neither was the guests!
The wedding morning saw me moving around the different accommodations, capturing images of the bridal prep, the groom prep and of course the pooches playing! At this point it was actually quite sunny, but that didn’t last! The ceremony was held in the wedding barn, which is actually a converted milking parlour! After a lovely, intimate ceremony the couple and their guests made their way outside into some strong winds to head over to the ‘Really Rustic Barn’ for some paper aeroplane throwing (instead of confetti!). Then we headed over to the Green Room for some drinks and congratulations!
After a stroll about for some windy portraits and a quick first dance practice, we headed into the accurately named ‘Red Brick Barn’ for some really fun speeches and some top notch grub! The Red Brick Barn is a stunning room, which was once a cow shed, but has been transformed into a classy, characterful venue for dining and dancing. Simon and Kelly enjoyed a special wedding game of ‘Mr & Mrs’, which was really funny to watch, before the music and dancing started up. They’d also planned an amazing choreographed jive routine for their first dance, which they absolutely nailed 100%!!! Fun times carried on late into the night, with the wonderful Kaj music on guitar.
Simon & Kelly were an absolute blast from start to finish, with great attitudes toward their wedding day; they just wanted to have fun and the weather was not going to stop them! It was an absolute pleasure to photograph this wedding at The Green, it is a stunning venue that I’ve been waiting to work at for a while.
