Scorrier House Wedding Photography – Alyssa & Ben

Wow. Just wow. I absolutely loved this wedding!

Ben and Alyssa are two of the most kind, humble and just downright happy people I’ve ever come across. A true pleasure to spend a day with, and with the lovely Scorrier House as the backdrop to the day, it made my job as a wedding photographer really easy!

I knew when I originally met them that I would enjoy photographing their wedding day, and it certainly surpassed my expectations. The ceremony was held at Truro Methodist Chapel, and following a very warm and surprisingly funny service from the vicar, we all headed off to Scorrier House for the reception. Canapés and drinks were served out in the sun, along with some games, a funny drawing competition for the kids (and adults), a relaxed meal, genuinely hilarious and entertaining speeches, sparklers, dancing, an awesome band, and then cake cutting to finish off. Everyone was super-relaxed and having a ton of fun. It was one of the most informal weddings I’ve been to in every sense, and I couldn’t have felt more welcome. Both Ben and Alyssa are doctors and avid travellers, and you could really tell they were well travelled as it felt like every nationality had a representative at this wedding!

A few highlights from the day include: the short-lived spotlight that shone through the window directly onto Alyssa when she had just seen Ben for the first time. The enormous cloud of confetti outside the church. All of the guests cramming into the main room and up the stairs for the brilliantly funny speeches. And the ten minute walk around the grounds with Ben and Alyssa, during the last bit of daylight.
