ALBION ROW

Best of 2019

TWENTYNINETEEN! Another amazing year of weddings for me! Great end to the decade!

This year has been so special; crammed full of awesome couples throwing incredible parties. And if I’m honest, that’s what a good wedding boils down to for me. Luckily for me each and every one of my weddings have been absolutely mega, with so much fun, love and memories for me to capture.

As always I’ve ignored trends and fads and just tried to make images with tons of feeling. The images below include dancefloor carnage, epic landscapes, emotional Dad’s, space hopper action, feral children, ripped trousers, hugs, double-hugs and triple-hugs, a cow rock band, confetti chaos, a ‘strictly’ granny, sunset fireworks, knot tying, DOGS!!! (I love pooches), crying bridesmaids, sun soaked portraits, a boozy boat race, UV-paint-boob-grabs and a huge load of joy!

I’ve still got a pile of blogging to do over the winter to get all these epic days featured in their full glory, but a handful are already posted including the lovely Higher Eggbeer Farm in Devon, the picturesque Sandy Cove in North Devon, a charming garden tipi wedding, a barn wedding at Nancarrow, an incredible trip to Larchfield Estate in Belfast, a fun filled wedding at Trenderway Farm and an absolutely epic two-day English-Chinese wedding at Tredudwell Manor. Other highlights that will be hitting the blog soon include even more Lusty Glaze weddings (five this year!), two completely individual weddings in Lympstone (update: Lympstone Village Hall here, and the River Exe Cafe here), a gorgeous Oxford wedding, my first ever Eden project wedding, an awesome Crasken Farm wedding and so many more…

2019 has been a great year for me on the awards front too. My favourite group ‘This Is Reportage’ have awarded me with another 3 individual image awards this year, as well as a story award (based on a set of 20 documentary images from one wedding). This led to me being ranked well in their Top 100 Photographers of the Year Worldwide 2019 for the second year running, and being interviewed on their podcast. I’ve also received 6 awards from NineDots and was awarded ‘Photographer of the Month’ in September. Chuffed to have managed to win another highly coveted Fearless Award as well as 5 honorable mentions or finalist images. I’m now ranked within the top 30 Fearless photographers in the UK (top 3 in South West of England) and the top 10 This Is Reportage photographers in the UK (number 1 in Cornwall & Devon!). Stoked!

But far more important than the awards is the amazing feedback from all of my couples this year after receiving their images. I’m always trying to improve my photography and my service, so when I hear how happy people are with my images and my presence on the wedding day, it totally blows me away and reminds me how incredible my job is! So to every single one of you – THANK YOU!

So without further waffle from me, scroll down to see some of my fave pics from the weddings I shot in 2019 (sorry if your wedding isn’t in, the sheer amount of images I make every year means some slip through the cracks, but trust me, you are loved!). Enjoy and please leave me a comment to let me know which is your fave! Much love to you all and all the best for TwentyTwenty 🙂

p.s. for the photographers reading this, everything was shot on Sony A9’s (still the best wedding camera) with a mix of lenses (mostly 24/50/85)

p.s.p.s I forgot to mention, you can check out 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015 and 2014 with these links. Can’t say I’m not consistent 😉 Bosh, enjoy the images!
